28th September 2013

A great day was had by all on Saturday when we played at Kinross Curling in the Swedish Tour Bonspiel.

All teams had games against other the teams, some positions were changed to allow the skips to assess the strengths of their ladies and some great shots were played.

A very welcome soup and sandwich lunch followed kindly provided by some of Morag's curling friends.

Thanks to Morag for organising the day.

Keep up with the knee exercises Morag and we'll see you back on the ice soon.

Here are some photos:

23rd September 2013

Today was the day I collected my curling trousers after having them shortened professionally (are most curlers really 6ft tall?).

Made a start on ironing in my labels and shortening a few sleeves - quite a task but I think I have managed to do quite a good job (patience was needed).

Looking forward to curling in our uniforms at Kinross on Saturday in the Swedish Bonspiel and taking some photos for our booklet and this blog site.

I also received a copy of the words for the songs we will be singing as we go around Sweden - just as well we will have them in front of us as I would never remember them all - especially the ones in the Scottish dialect!!

Only 5 weeks and 3 days to go before departure..... and I still need to open a site where photos can be down loaded and then uploaded on to this site. A task for another day I think.

Whilst the sun has been shining I have been working hard to find out how to enable family and friends to add comments to our blogs in case anyone feels the urge to 'speak'.

I have tweaked a couple of settings so now I need to test the system to find out if that was the answer I was looking for.

Here goes....

8th September 2013 - Meeting number 6

This meeting was held at Scion House. Thank you Fiona for the use of your classroom ... yet again

Morning Class was Toffee Vodka which smelt better than it tasted. Somehow I don't think it will be coming on Tour with us.

Pat (from Caledonia Highland Dress Manufacturers, Abernethy) was present to give us a fitting of our blazers. Some of the sleeves were a bit short so I hope he can sort it out otherwise cold arms might be the order of the day!

Elaine (an independent shopper) was also in attendance to try and help us find something to wear under the blazer since this was proving to be a difficult hurdle to overcome. All our fingers are now crossed that she is successful.

Jackets were chosen, songs were sung, gifts were decided and sandwiches were eaten.

Since this is a practice blog I am going to try and add a photo from an earlier meeting where ice jackets were being scruitinised....

Ice jackets being discussed
Photo added successfully (well done me!).

I wonder if this blog can appear before my first test blog to get things in chronological order???? I can feel another test coming on....
11th September 2013.

Linsey, Rhona, Liz and Val attended the Ladies Day at the Peak to get in a bit of extra tuition and practice before heading off to Sweden.

A brief report can be seen here.
